(The contents of an enterprise)

IWVS (Ananda mission charitable trust) wishes that the people of@Japan@and@India@ share a common sense of values exceeding a race and religion, and they learn each other. We support a public health activity through a medical activity and a life improvement and also we support an education for non-school children. We educate volunteers who can support our activity to spread a medical treatment and an early childhood education in@India. As a medical treatment activities, we established Arnanda hospital in Kushinagar and manage it.

(Arnanda hospital)
Arnanda hospital was built in 1998 as a base of activity for medical treatment. This area is near Kushinagar in U.P. which is located in northern @India. In the farm village part of@India, people can not receive an advance medical treatment, but we can help them by spreading a substantial initial medical treatment, the knowledge of a public health and an education. Doctor, all staffs, Japanese doctors and volunteers who visit@India@periodically do their best day and night for people in@India.

(Process of Armanda hospital)

-in 1987-

Mr. Masao Shibata (Director) who visited the Buddhism holy places in India established IWVS committee with Mr. Takayuki Yamamoto (Chief of director).

The donation activity has started.

-Jan.1997-

Arnanda hospital started to construct.

-The first year  from Nov.1998 to Oct.1999-

To the first, we started medical examination with treatment room and one doctor.

As an Indian medical characteristic, a doctor asks a condition of a patient and writes a prescription and then just gives medicine them. Usually when people get sick, people ask a faith curer to remove their disease or people take a Ayurvedic treatment because there is not hospital. Of course there is a disease which can cure by Ayurvedic but also there is a disease which can cure by western medicine. We made people understand about a necessity of western medicine and western medical cure, and made people come to hospital

-The second year form Nov.1999 to Oct. 2000-

IWVS was authorized NPO and we could fix a fundamental medical equipments by the assistance of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Japan. And we started to treat tuberculosis which was not able to do until now, when Postal savings for International Voluntary Aid of Japanese postal administration public corporation was distributed.

And also we could prepare an emergency organization by a contributed ambulance from Toyota. And we invited Dr. Gupta to Fukushimura hospital in Toyohashi Japan to give some training about an echo and gastrocamera.

-The third year From Nov.2000 to Oct 2001-

We painted an outer wall and inner wall again from Jun., 2001 and repaired the x-ray room, the darkroom, the ultrasonic room, the operating room, the inspection room and a drugstore.

Also we installed new ultrasonic diagnostic equipment and the operating table and so on. We employed Dr. Leika Singh, and Dr. Gupta with Dr. Leika started to treat the female patient who are 2/3 of the whole patient.

-The 4th year From Nov. 2001 to Oct. 2002)

We carried out a patrol medical examination and treatment, a health education, living guidance in Kushinagar to control reduction of infantile mortality rate, and to reduce infection (tuberculosis), parasite infection, asthma. Because of a suitable medical examination by Dr Gupta and a medical machinery which other hospital do not have we have many patient who could not recover in other hospitals.

-The 5th year Nov. 2002 to Oct. 2003-

Through the medical activity for 5 years, relation ship between our staff and people became thick and the foundation of a hospital became strong. There were kind of disease increased, and many patients who could not recover in another hospital came to our hospital.

-The 6th year From Nov.2003 to Oct. 2004-

This year was 5th year to treat tuberculosis, asthma, malaria, trichomoniasis without any charge by distribution of Postal savings for International Voluntary Aid of Japanese postal administration public corporation. In this term we have worked focusing on medical activity. After that we built a foundation of activity for illness prevention, life improvement, hygiene.

-The 7th year From Nov.2004 to Feb. 2005-

We were authorized NPO in September 2000. This time we were authorized an approved specified NPO in January 2005.
